Tata buys Jaguar and Land Rover in £1.15bn Deal

It was revealed on Tuesday that American Giant, Ford has sold Jaguar & Land Rover to the Indian Company, TATA. It was confirmed that the deal was made for £1.15bn.

The negotiations started last June when Ford announced its intention to sell the companies as a package together.

"We are very pleased at the prospect of Jaguar and Land Rover being a significant part of our automotive business," Tata said.

XKR-S Revealed at Geneva




Finally the XKR-S was unveiled at the Geneva MotorShow on 4th March 2008.

The XKR-S will be offered for sale exclusively in Europe with only 200 being built in all, 50 of these will be available in the UK.

Jaguar XF from March 2008



The Jaguar XF will be in showrooms from March 2008, with either petrol or diesel engines. A Supercharged version will be available, with 416bhp. Prices start from £33,900 for the Luxury version of the XF.

Will there be an XKR-R?


There are rumours that Jaguar will be a building a special, high performance XKR-R with just over 500bhp. The car willl feature bigger exhaust pipes, possibly stripped out interior possibly with racing style bucket seats.

Rumours of XF-R 500BHP V8 Spied


The Jaguar XF-R has been caught testing around Britain. The car will feature a 500bhp 5.0litre V8 derived from the 4.2litre Supercharged V8 with 416bhp fitted to the SV8 version of the XF. It is achieved through higher boost pressures. The covers for the XF-R come off late 2008, available to order early 2009 around the price of £75,000. The XF is out in UK Dealers in March 2008 in standard form.

The XF-R will be a rival to the BMW M5, and features:-
Quad Tailpipes, 20" Alloy Wheels with Ventilated Discs, a blackened front mesh grille, lower ride height, bigger wheel arches to suit the bigger wheels, uprated "R" Performance Suspension, bigger & more powerful brakes and an upgraded styling package.
